Mary Drechsler Crowell
Mary Drechsler Crowell, a resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Augusta, ME for 34 years, formerly of District Heights, MD for 30 years, died on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Brightview South River in Edgewater, MD. She was 94.
Born July 10, 1922, in Wiggins, MS to the late George Leo Drechsler and Mary Ball Parks Drechsler, she graduated from Yazoo City, MS High School and moved to Washington, DC Mary was employed for many years at Loomis, Sayles & Company. She was a longtime member of Green Street United Methodist Church in Augusta, ME, and previously at District Heights Presbyterian Church . Mary enjoyed all sports, particularly the Redskins, Patriots and Saints Football. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Mary was the beloved wife of 47 years of the late Ralph George Crowell; devoted mother of Charles "Drex" Crowell and his wife, Nancy Norell Crowell of Edgewater, MD and Margaret Crowell Hata and her husband Raymond Hata of Flanders, NJ; sister of the late Minnie Drechsler Burns; grandmother of Dawn Crowell Murphy and her husband, Colin, Adam Drechsler Crowell and his wife Emily, Christopher George and his wife Haruka, Jason Daniel, and Mary Elizabeth Hata Also survived by one great-grandchild, Liam Hata.
Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed but is now pain free and in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Sunday, May 21 from 1:00 p.m. until her funeral service begins at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, ME.
