Obituary for Roseann Rohan (Carroll)

Roseann Rohan, 78, of Camp Springs, MD left us unexpectedly on Friday, February 26, 2021. Roseann was born in Washington, DC on October 8, 1942. She was raised in Washington, DC while also spending a lot of time with family in Philadelphia, PA. She attended grade school at St. Peter’s Catholic School on Capitol Hill and high school at St. Cecelia’s. She took some classes at the University of Maryland before taking a job as a dental hygienist. In 1963, she married Frank Rohan and they began their life together. They have five children, Cammy McCafferty (Ken), Walt Rohan (Rachael), Tina Byrne (Mike), Celena Connelly (Tom) and Kevin Rohan. Roseann had eleven grandchildren who she loved with all her heart, and who brought her tremendous joy; Christopher Joy, Shanna Digges (Steven), Ryan, Rebecca and Anna Rohan; Kevin, Mary and Casey Byrne; Michael, Molly and Sean Connelly. And she absolutely adored her 18 month old great grandson, Nathan Digges.

After they got married, Roseann and Frank joined St. Philip’s parish. Roseann was active with St. Philip’s parish for over 50 years. She spent many hours volunteering with the Spring Fair, working at the Christmas Bazaar, organizing Christmas kit and candy sale fundraisers, being a homeroom parent, working in the social hall, helping with the annual auctions, and being on their bowling league. She also ran the before and after-school care program at the school. Roseann had lifelong relationships and loved all her friends and family.

She was a wonderful host and loved having people over at their house, whether it was the Friday night card game, Superbowl party or family get togethers for Holidays and birthdays. She loved decorating her home for every holiday, especially Christmas. And, of course the house was always impeccably clean, with fresh vacuum marks in the living room at all times. We are so thankful to have so many wonderful memories of the times we spent together as a family and with the large group of friends who were always with us.

Roseann was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and Walt Mote. Roseann was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to all and she will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to Roseann's Life Celebration at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately. The interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD will be held privately.
