Obituary for Thomas Carlin Holder

Thomas Carlin "Tom" Holder, 79, a resident of Annapolis and formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL and Seabrook, MD, died on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Born on December 27, 1938 in Washington, DC to the late, Thomas Winfield and Josephine Victoria Holder, Tom was a 1957 graduate of Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD. He owned and operated Holder Insulation, Inc. for 28 years and was a member of Asbestos Workers Local 24. Tom earned his sailplane/glider pilot license, he built radio controlled planes and boats and constructed two full size gliders/power gliders. He was a member of multiple organizations and clubs including: Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Mid-Atlantic Soaring Association (MASA), Soaring Society of America (SSA), St. Lucie River Model Boat Club and Radio Control (RC) clubs, St. Mary's Catholic Church of Annapolis and Trinity Lutheran Church of Florida.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Donna L. Wynn and Denise A. Cunningham both of Annapolis, MD; his granddaughter, Amanda M. (Aronson) Dauer and his great-granddaughter, Aubrey C. Dauer of Arnold, MD and his brother, William W. Holder of Rockville, MD. He was preceded in death by his girlfriend of 18 years, Bettie Burson. A memorial service will be held at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, December 14 at 2 PM.

Interment private.
