George Harvey Knight, Jr, “Blue”, 71, of Lothian, MD, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, due to a ruptured aorta. George was born in Portsmouth, VA to the late George and Alma Knight, Sr. on October 28, 1947. He served in the U.S. Army in the 24th Infantry Division during the early years of the Vietnam War. George continued to serve his country as a FBI Police Officer. He enjoyed football, gardening, reading and learning about world history, but most of all enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda, and his sister, Ruby Joyce Smith.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Knight and his wife, Zara; six siblings, Clarence Edward Knight of Norfolk, VA, Melvin Phillip Knight of Lynchburg, VA, Eugene
Maurice Knight of Portsmouth, VA, Ethel Elizabeth Thomas of Portsmouth, Angela Holmes of Detroit, MI, Parthenia Knight of Chesapeake, VA; a granddaughter, Mila Sophia Knight; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate George’s life on Tuesday, November 13, from 10 am until a service begins at 11 am at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomon’s Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment to follow at Maryland’s Veteran Cemetery, Crownsville at 1pm.
